Tenancy Manager - Kaihautū Mataamua Rīhi Whare Noho

About the role

As a Tenancy Manager Kaihautū Mataamua Rīhi Whare Noho  you will support whānau who have experienced chronic homelessness or housing insecurity, to live well in permanent housing.  You will deliver end to end tenancy and property management services across an allocated portfolio of properties with the goal of enabling sustained housing solutions for tenants. This role is not responsible for the provision of social services which are delivered by Auckland City Mission but liaises and works closely with the social services teams to support sustainable tenancies.

Duties

  • Provide effective end-to-end tenancy management services across our diverse portfolio of properties. (on call one week in four).
  • Ensure compliance within legislation and work within the principles of community housing, where we believe everyone has the right to a decent home.
  • Collaborate with our social services teams to ensure tenants are well supported so they can thrive.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare relevant documentation and represent ACMHL at the Tenancy Tribunal as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Sound knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and familiarity with the Housing First programme is essential.
  • Commitment to embodying the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in organisational practice.
  • Experience working with vulnerable communities, homelessness or addictions or trauma.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills, with the ability to communicate with all peoples from diverse backgrounds.
  • Current Full New Zealand Drivers Licence.

Skills, experience and knowledge may also be obtained from a number of different experiences. For example, from paid work, voluntary work, work undertaken within your Church, Marae, or from specific iwi/whānau responsibilities.
