About the role

You're already working in a coordination or support role - in marketing, communications, fundraising, or a not-for-profit team - and you're ready for your next step. You're organised, reliable, and take pride in keeping things moving. You understand that great work gets delivered when the coordination behind the scenes is solid.

As Marketing Coordinator at Te Tāpui Atawhai Auckland City Mission, you'll be the operational backbone of our Marketing & Communications team. You'll manage the flow of work, triage and track requests, coordinate campaigns and content, and support delivery across fundraising, digital, and organisational communications.

This is a role for someone who already knows what it takes to keep a busy team on track - and who wants to bring those skills to work that directly supports Aucklanders.

What you will be doing

  • Own the internal marketing and comms request process - triage tasks, clarify requirements, allocate work, and close the loop with stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline how the team works - improving processes, systems, and ways of working to make the whole team more efficient and effective.
  • Coordinate delivery across fundraising campaigns, brand campaigns, digital initiatives and organisational marketing activities.
  • Draft and format internal communications, manage intranet posts, and help maintain staff communication channels.
  • Loading website content and ensuring it is kept up to date, under the direction of your Manager.
  • Track campaign data, document insights, and apply learnings to continuously improve how we work.
  • Work seamlessly across the wider organisation - building relationships, spotting opportunities, and taking initiative to move things forward without waiting to be asked.

What we are looking for

  • 2 - 4 years’ experience in marketing, communications, project coordination, fundraising support or a related field & relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Capacity to demonstrate through actions commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Mission’s values of Manaakitanga, Atawhai, Rangapū and Mana Tika, Mana Ōrite.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Lived experience of homelessness, recovery, or social challenges is respected and valued in this role.
  • Current full New Zealand Driver License.

We recognize that skills, experience and knowledge can be gained in a number of ways. This may include paid or voluntary work, experience undertaken through your church, marae, iwi or whānau responsibilities, or other community roles.

What we offer

  • Opportunities to strengthen cultural connection through weekly Kapa Haka, waiata, and monthly romiromi.
  • Access to EAP & external supervision.
  • "Mission Leave” provides an opportunity to focus on wellbeing along with annual and sick leave.
  • Tangihanga leave.
  • Access to sick leave from your 1st day of employment.
  • Ongoing training and development.
  • Staff discounts at Auckland City Mission Op Shops and Pharmacy.
  • Access to low cost, fresh produce through the Mission Grocer.
  • Convenient access to public transport and discounted parking options.
  • Opportunities for career progression within the Mission.
