Social Withdrawal Manager -   Kaihautū Matua Ratonga Aukati Warawara

About the role

The Social Withdrawal Manager - Kaihautū Matua Ratonga Aukati Warawara -  Mahi is responsible for the operational delivery of the service on a daily basis, ensuring that both kaimahi and tāngata whaiora have all necessary support and guidance for the safe and effective delivery of withdrawal services. The role provides leadership and expertise to the team, including guiding AOD harm reduction and risk management.

Duties

  • Lead the development and delivery of Social Withdrawal Service for the Mission’s whanau.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the organisation including role modelling a culture that embeds the Mission’s values of Manaakitanga, Atawhai, Rangapū and Manatika/Mana Orite and demonstrates through actions commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Manage implementation of new and innovative approaches, including reporting and maintaining relationships with funding agencies and service users.
  • Develop key relationships to broaden the Mission’s connections by proactively engaging and fostering trusted partnerships with iwi, government and non-government organisations, interests and community groups.
  • Ensure services are delivered to a high standard and in line with the agreed model of care.

Skills & Experience

  • DAPAANZ professional registration OR equivalent registration (HPCA, Social Work etc) AND strong experience and knowledge of drug treatment services.
  • Proven people management experience, leading a team of specialists and/or subject matter experts.
  • Excellent team building, collaboration and partnering skills, with aptitude for getting things done through both formal and informal channels.
  • Commitment to embodying the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi in organisational practice.
  • Full clean NZ Driver Licence.

Skills, experience and knowledge may also be obtained from a number of different experiences. For example, from paid work, voluntary work, work undertaken within your Church, Marae, or from specific iwi/whānau responsibilities.

About the organisation

Auckland City Mission - Te Tāpui Atawhai supports Aucklanders in greatest need. Our services have evolved as the city’s social needs have changed, and we respond to these needs with care and compassion while advocating for a reality where there are: enough suitable homes, enough money for nutritious food, and easily accessible health care for all. Since our doors opened more than 100 years ago, this has been our ‘why’. Today, we operate across 9 sites in Tāamaki Makaurau. Over the past 12 months, the Mission has provided 200 people with permanent homes, conducted over 20,000 consultations at the Calder Health Centre in HomeGround, cared for 462 people in our residential social detox facility in HomeGround, distributed almost 50,000 food parcels to families and individuals, and served over 80,000 warm meals in our community dining room, Haeata.
