Manager Health and Connection 

About the role 

The Manager Health and Connection is responsible for the leadership, operational management, development, and effective delivery of the Health & Connection service, ensuring the service contributes to reducing health and social inequity, particularly those experienced by Māori.

The role provides leadership to a multidisciplinary workforce and ensures the team works collaboratively to provide accessible, coordinated, culturally safe and high-quality services to tāngata whaiora experiencing complex health and social needs.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the development and delivery of Health & Connection in line with the service model, contracts, and Mission strategy.
  • Build a strong multidisciplinary culture that respects and integrates diverse disciplines, lived experience, and expertise.
  • Lead, guide, coordinate, and support frontline staff and the wider Health & Connection team.
  • Maintain effective systems for referrals, triage, allocation, engagement, caseloads, multidisciplinary review, transitions, and service exit.
  • Oversee service deliverables and ensure contractual requirements are understood and applied in practice.

What we are looking for

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in health, social work, addiction, mental health, management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Capacity to demonstrate through actions commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Mission’s values of Manaakitanga, Atawhai, Rangapū and Mana Tika, Mana Ōrite.
  • Significant proven people leadership and management experience, preferably within health, social services, alcohol & other drug (AOD), mental health, homelessness, or another complex human service environment.
  • Strong operational management skills, including the ability to translate strategy and service specifications into effective day-to-day service delivery.
  • Ability to use data, service information, and  qualitative feedback to monitor performance and inform decision-making.
