Night Support Worker

Te Whare Hīnātore aims to assist wāhine that are experiencing homelessness, to improve their social and psychological wellbeing through providing a quality kaupapa Māori trauma-informed residential service.
Wāhine in the programme live onsite and participate in a structured daily routine, individually tailored to work through barriers in maintaining permanent housing. All wāhine are invited to participate in the daily running of the whare, including cooking, cleaning; and a group/activity programme that includes life skills, whanaungatanga and community-building. The length of stay is 12 weeks, with an additional 12 weeks of support integrating back into the wider community.
This is a flexible and dynamic support role, based on your individual strengths. The focus is on ensuring our wàhine are supported with a Maori worldview.
We are looking for a passionate and supportive individual with a positive attitude and healthy boundaries, who takes initiative and is willing to engage in a culture of open communication and feedback. Specific knowledge, qualifications or experience is valued but not required. However, it is essential that you are open to learning, are enthusiastic about working within kaupapa Māori frameworks and invested in your personal, professional and cultural development.
Te Whare Hīnātore is staffed 24/7 and this a full-time permanent position with rostered shifts (10pm to 6.30am) which includes weekends and Public holidays. In return we offer competitive salary (relative to qualifications/experience), ongoing support, supervision and professional development.
